There are certainly ongoing debates on,
- Whether Einstein was the first person to bring out the concept of Relativity?
- Whether Edison was the first person to invent Bulb?
- How these creative individuals had their "not invented biases" of their own?
At the same time, one thing that certainly differentiated them from many others was their ability to think differently, and their persistence when all odds were stacked against them.
For example, there are stories about Edison's ability as a young kid, and how people around him were concerned about his future.
In the same way, all of Einstein's job applications (after graduation) to Universities were rejected, and he came up with his work on "Relativity" in a patent office while working as a patent clerk, a job that he had taken out of necessity.
